AAA FOUR DIAMONDS TO GIOVANNI’S ON THE HILL & TONY’S
For “. . .a high level of personal comfort and attention to every guest,” Giovanni’s on the Hill has garnered the AAA Four Diamond Award for the 22nd year. Tony’s has gotten the high honor for the 11th year. Other four-star winners are: An American Place and The Grill at the Ritz-Carlton. The honors will be published in the AAA TourBook guides.
BTW: The WESTWARD Restaurant Depot has chosen Giovanni Gabrielle as “Customer of the Month.” Warm, snug and enchanting best describe Kabob Palace on Manchester Road, where Afghan cuisine rules. Diners there got a double treat t’other night, when they later stopped in the nearby St. Olaf Church, where a choir of 60 from St. Olaf’s College in Minnesota sang “Some Day the World Will Be At Peace.”

Valentine’s Day has not been a good day for Wayman Smith! Does anyone remember several years ago at Wayman’s beautiful Lindell mansion when a woman showed up at his home and exclaimed “Wayman loves me”?!
Too bad An American Place closed last year. That won’t be of much help for readers of the AAA Tour book.
CUSTOMER OF THE MONTH, HUH? I HEAR HIS FAV THING AT THE RESTAURANT DEPOT IS LOBSTER STUFFED LETTUCE – BY THE CASE!
I am so proud of Giovanni. This is a man who came to this country with a dream, and really achieved his American Dream. He has served every president since Reagan. Was a guest Chef on Oprah, and still today apologizes for his English. Only in America !!!! And I am so excited to hear that they are talking to you about appearing as a guest chef on the tonight show!!! Hope it works out for you.

Congratulations, Giovanni! You are one of my favorite stops when I come home! All Missourians are lucky to have you in the restaurant community.
