JAMESTOWN MALL BECOMING THE REGION’S LARGEST FLEA MARKET?: GOOD JOBS, GREEN JOBS
Tattle tales at the St. Louis County government offices have it that a mammoth flea market may yet revive the moribund Jamestown Mall. With the closures of Dillards and JCPenney, there is more than enough space to accommodate vendors from throughout the region. “Nearby Florissant would provide a steady feed of bargain hunters and County Exec Charlie Dooley would probably greet the market with ardor,” said a booster of the project. Moreover, the St. Louis County Police has a station nearby and patrols the mall continuously. . .The two estates – six acres and twenty five acres in Sunset Hills – owned by the late “Puddy” Hadley are on the sale block for millions via Janet McAfee‘s Jim Human. . . Inspired by President Obama‘s call for clean energy jobs in his State of the Union address, hometowners Jill Miller and John Hickey from the Missouri Sierra Club will trek next week to the Good Jobs, Green Jobs Conference in D.C. for strategies to build the clean energy job sector here. . . “Police officers who’ve come here, have been spotted and commenting on the dispassionate look on Nazis, who view the murders of Jews,” said Jean Cavender, director of the Holocaust Museum & Learning Center at the JCA. At the preview of the center’s new archives exhibit, Cavender said it’s been opened for research by area higher schools of learning. Cavender pointed out that the center now presents the program, “Law Enforcement in Society.” “There are now 12 survivors of the Holocaust, who speak for us, and almost 100 who are still with us,” she said. One fascinating article in the collection is a worn suitcase emblazoned with its destination, “St. Louis Missoury,” which Cavender said was owned by a survivor, who struck success as a developer in East St. Louis. Getting hefty assist at the museum is Andrew Goldfader, a purveyor of dignity and respect.

Green jobs (assuming any exist at all) are the biggest hoax of our lifetimes.
Jamestown Mall…a Giant Flea Market? Sweet! I regularly tout the St. Louis area flea markets on my blog. The malls proximity to the Alton Il. antique area would be a plus for both!
