JERRY KENT TO REAP $6.8 BILLION
With all the pomp and panoply a fundraiser can provide, our town’s Stages staged a dazzling “Applause!” auction-dinner fundraiser Friday night at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, where more than $300k was raised to further its education and outreach programs.
On hand were FOX2′s co-anchor Kevin Steincross, who served as host, auctioneer and emcee, the handsome twosome of Judyand Jerry Kent, blessedly generous underwriters of the do. Jerry dropped that his firm will close on the sale of its Suddenlink Communications “later this month” at a price tag of $6.8 billion.
(Kent is the telecommunications trailblazer, who built Suddenlink into the seventh largest U.S. cable company.) The eleventh fundraiser was helmed by Stages exec producer, Jack Lane, whose involvement with “Peter and the Starcatcher”, the Broadway play of the backstory for the character Peter Pan, was nominated for nine Tony Awards.

The poor guy is in desperate need of tax breaks! Thankfully, the Republican House has his back!
