LESTER MILLER & JUDY ZABAN MARRIED
Happiness is getting the first Kleenex out of the box without tearing it, lighting a cigarette while your doctor tells you on the phone your lung CT scan looks fine, someone playing Brahms First, browsing through Macy’s without a salesperson following you, the mixologist who tells you that “this round is on the house,” the airline exec who tells you, “We try to keep all our planes in the air” (a worthy thought for any airline), a chauffeur snugly asleep behind the wheel of a Rolls outside Powell Hall, while his employer sleeps uncomfortably inside and the Urban League’s Jim Buford being honored as “Man of the Year” for his efforts in race relations (isn’t that why he earns an annual $225k?)
Happiness is also making the rounds of pre-New Year’s Eve gatherings. “Lester Miller has married Judy Zaban,” informed Miller’s zillionaire pal, Jim Davis, who dined with his daughter, Susan Becker, at Tony’s, while nearby Joanie and Eugene Kraus (the retired apparel mogul) were toasted on their wedding anniversary by members of their family, that included their daughter and son-in-law Judy and David Grand and grandsons Coby, Ryan and Garbriel Grand.
Early dinner arrivals were newsome-twosome Caryl Crahan and Gary Gaertner. Sr. Meanwhile, prep was underway for attorney Joel Eisenstein’s big holiday bash.
At the born-again Cheshire Inn, its beverage director Patricia Wahmhoff and service manager, Scott Phares, took us on a tour of our town’s newest social bauble, The Restaurant, a stunning and posh room designed by Todd Rushing. Later, we ventured into the Cheshire’s downstairs Basso, where winning pizza was delivered to the throngs of college-age diners. At The Restaurant, Brian Cave’s associate Tim O’Connell and his wife, Elizabeth McNulty, perused the menu (Tim, a former copy chief at the Post-Dispatch, was checking for misspellings).
Elizabeth is former publications chief for Mo. Bot. Garden and is currently a freelance scribe. Wahmhoff mentioned that Lucy Bommarito will helm The Market Cafe at the Cheshire, which will vend food and wine. At Giovanni’s on the Hill, Wells Fargo’s Elizabeth Reed and attorney Michael Quillin, held their rehearsal dinner in the private dining room. They tied the knot on Saturday at Our Lady of Sorrows and canoodled to Punta Cana for their honeymoon. At Dominic’s on the Hill, Dr. Davis Provaznik entertained his wife, Schalex, his sister, Chris Provaznik and daughter and son, Kate and Dana.
Ushering in the New Year at Il Bel Lago were: Chris Binns; Sierra Drimak; Mara Drimak; Ed Drimak (“I make radar for Boeing”) and Lynn Drimak. Pat Brannon’s Casa Loma has booked “The Beggar’s Carnival” for N.Y. Eve, a dance party with entertainment by Monsieur Shawn Gaston and The Royal We!
Champagne toast at midnight and buffet for all. ..Congrats to Noemi Neidorf and Jim Weddle, managing partner of Edw. Jones, on being named Woman and Man of the Year by the Variety Club, that will have its “Dinner with the Stars” on April 27 at the Peabody. . .

Isn’t this the fifth marriage and sixth prenup Lester Miller has entered into? Ah, the lifestyles of the Rich and Stupid. And what about her wash and wear wedding gown?
I give it 6 months tops
Unless he dies first
I hear he’s broke too…. Hope she has money
What happened to the Gold Digger Cindy he was engaged to?
More hate from that bitter Kitty! No wonder she can’t even get a man!
Was the reception at Lester’s ? [his sports bar/grill]
I feel so out of it; I always assume best wishes and words of congratulations are due for such events. Silly me!! I guess we now all pretend to know better and should never make decisions without asking everyone else for their opinion!! Worst part is, we don’t even get the rest of the freebies that come with such judgement and / or communism!!
