OH ME, GASTRONOMY!
The kitchen is full of artistry, and a fine meal can be as moving as poetry. Maybe the Gov should look to St. Louis’ finest restaurant menus to see real poetic beauty as he ponders the next poet laureate. Just read these superb St. Louis entrees aloud on an empty stomach to titillate your tummy and make love to your ears: >From Tony’s: “Osetra Caviar…Ziti Amatriciana…Lobster Albanello.” Now serving at Napoli 2: “Veal Chop Vino Rosso…Ricotta Gnocchi “al forno”… Farfalle alla Vodka.” The most silky-sounding dishes may be at Bel Lago: “Carpaccio Di manzo Con Parmigiano e Gocce di Tartufo…Pezzi di Aragosta alla Panna Con Fungetti…Costello di Vitello Parmigiano.”

Damn you Jerry … there goes my diet. I am heading to Napoli2.
Tony’s is amazing and Tony’s isn’t necessarily hard on the wallet. My daughter wanted to treat her pop to a happy hour and early dinner to celebrate her new job, and she insisted on picking up the tab – I know, a great kid! Anyway, we settled in at Anthony’s Bar at Tony’s. Most of the very generous entrees were under 20 bucks with the same outstanding culinary impact.
The wife and I love Tony’s and we have celebrated several anniversaries down on Market. At times like these I am a carnivore, so trust me that nothing beats the Sirloin Diavola!
The Pietoso family members are such wonderful hosts at Napoli! It is our favorite for date nights out.
jerry, is tony’s leaving downtown for the cheshire property? so many beautiful memories from years past at both places. we had our rehearsal dinner at tony’s and our reception at cheshire lodge.
Hey Sally Ann, last I read Tony’s was thinking about heading to the old Busch’s Grove. I hope he stays put. That is such an elegant setting downtown.
