Tonight, the Mehlville Board of Education will consider placing police officers at district elementary schools.  After the shooting at Sandy Hook, that left 20 children and six adults dead, Superintendent Eric Knost said a “legitimate discussion” should be a priority.  He said the presence of police officers is the most effective deterrent to any safety threats.
