Cardinals Care

Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder: “Assault weapons is a misused term used by suburban soccer moms who do not understand what is being discussed here.” Rep. Stacey Newman, D-St. Louis: “Mr. Kinder, I don’t play soccer. Moms throughout the country have had to learn about assault weapons in a way most of us, even you, cannot imagine.” Some of the wackier ideas on ending gun violence can be found on the St. Louis Catholic blog. Among them: “Abolish the Department of Education (Government education is a myth. It’s an open-air prison. The only thing learned at public schools is how to become a thug.”) and “End minimum wage laws.” (“Urban youth, in particular with few skills, are the victims of the minimum wage laws. Their marginal revenue productivity is not high enough to warrant businesses hiring them, Thus, they roam, looking for targets to rob.”)

Peter Kinder, genius at spending our states money for the Four Seasons and girly bars, has lost all credability when he speaks. Time for Peter to move on to bigger and better things. Peter – make your comment to all of the parents at Shady Hook Elementary and see how they react. IDIOT.

The ‘St Louis Catholic’ blog is not Archdiocesan. A disgruntled, renegade throw-back to the mid-ages, it thinks ALL women should be stay-at-home moms homeschooling their kids, the Tridentine Mass is the ONLY valid one out there, Latin MUSTt be taught to all, and of course that Obama is a “statist thug” and “evil.” In short, you don’t need outsiders trying to destroy the Catholic church when ‘faithful’ insiders are doing the job themselves. If you have the intelligence and culture of a Cro-Magnon man and see things only in simple black and white, and need to criticize the world for not being myopically narcissistic like the author, this is your blog. Yours, and about 11 other humans on the planet.

The Lt Governor does have his politics in a bit of turmoil for those that delight in seeing any opposing viewpoints as so much ground testicle meat, but the Lt Gov IS the Lt Gov, and I stand firmly beside him for his very critical action at a time of need…the credit for casting the deciding vote FOR CCW in Missouri. The anti-gunners, which were a close majority at the time, soiled their collective pants when this happened. Law Enforcement was in a tizzy about blood in the streets…the OK Corral was the next block over…AND none of this came to be. Fact is, the CCW law as it is now is simplified, more compatible with current laws, now contains the “Castle Doctrine” [stand your ground] and is declared a “non issue” by all the metro Law Enforcement agencies. Score at least ONE for the truth, justice, and the distinctly American Way… Cars don’t drive drunk, and guns don’t fire themselves…it’s the nutty ones with a weapon that can kill at a whim, and no law on earth can stop an insane act. Just wait, the firestorm over “assault weapons” will come together, only to be blown apart by a “suicide bomber” in a school assembly event. Be careful whom you blame.

  • How it is says:

An “assault weapon” is an automatic rifle, which means that you pull the trigger and the gun fires repeatedly until you stop pulling the trigger. Automatic weapons have been banned for years, just like machine guns.

There are many legal, semi-automatic rifles (each shot requires a separate trigger pull) that look like assault rifles, but they are not.

It’s like showing a picture of a little-leaguer and calling him a Cardinal. Same look, but very very different.

It may be a small point, but every time the media uses it incorrectly they not only prove they don’t know what they are talking about, but that they don’t care enough to get it right.

How it Is…is EXACTLY how it IS !!! Well done.

Hmmm…I see Kitty and Towncar07 also post their hatred on the St. Louis Catholic Blog!

Towncar says: “guns don’t fire themselves” while that’s true, it’s difficult to fire a weapon if you DON’T have one, huh?

Guns are mostly made in factories with serial numbers. From there authorized distributors and dealers sell them. Can’t be that difficult to do a background check on every gun purchase – what’s the problem?

You DO have to have a driver’s license to pull that dangerous weapon called a car out of your driveway. You DO have to show your identification to prove you’re of legal age to get a drink. Why not a background check for a gun sale – what are all these people running around with their hair on fire about? If they are law abiding citizens, have no trouble with the law, no big deal.

But they are afraid some big bad gun cop is coming to take their guns away. NO ONE is suggesting that at all.

I have never had a problem showing my ID, and I don’t object to showing an ID to vote, or buy a gun…the latter is for supposed safety reasons, but could be used against the owner for misuse…and the former to VOTE, I must show mine ever time, yet the person that spoke very broken English that was behind me only has a mangled car title receipt…she was questioned, but voted regardless. I questioned the action, AND was waved off. I’m glad the room did not hear what I muttered under my breath.

I’m fearful, too, that this rash of Obama Legislation is chipping away at our personal freedoms.
