  • John Wallach says:

Rush, in his infinite wisdom (???), just didn’t realize that “Bane” is a comic book character introduced by DC Comics years ago, before Bain & Romney became joke fodder for The Daily Show.

  • Petunia says:

“Mr. Sparky”…that’s what my first husband called his pecker.

  • KITTY says:

Thanks for mentioning Steve Schiff. He was one of the best news anchors in St. Louis. Those were the days Patrick Emery drank scotch – lots of scotch – before anchoring the evening news. And that’s when Mike Bush was a young cocky punk, and the flying Bob Richards nosedived his airplane in a cornfield after being jilted by a love interest in Jefferson county. Those were the good old days when KSDK reigned supreme and before Lynn Beagle ran it into the ground.

Poor Rush, that’s what happens when you use “talent on loan from GAWD” and open your gigantic mouth with only 1/2 brain engaged.

  • Towncar07 says:

Rush cleared the air regarding “Bane” on today’s opening mono…and he does have talent on loan from a higher power.. observe his ratings numbers…and I remember Steve Schiff, good newsman…and it’s Patrick Emory who must now be in retirement…I still remember his “going away” party when our venerable weather veteran Dave Murray told Patrick, upon receiving a large Kasaba Melon…he asks “where can I put it?” and Murray deftly replies …”anywhere it fits” at which point I was on the floor in convulsions. Ah yes, memories that just defy time.

  • trashcup says:

Rush ratings only prove that saying obnoxious and controversial things attract listeners. People rush to trainwrecks, fires, car wrecks too, that doesn’t make them smart, it only proves guys like Limbaugh make their money saying idiotic outrageous things.

Taking a conversation about BANE from a comic book and projecting it into a political ruse ain’t exactly excellence in broadcasting as Rush claims.

Thanks for the mention Jerry! Just wanted to correct the name of our company.
I work for LAIKA Entertainment not Leica. Go see ParaNorman on August 17th.
You won’t regret it. It is a fantastic film!!! My official credit on the film was Animation Supervisor. See you at the movies!

  • Towncar07 says:

Oh, trashcup again…you obviously did not listen to Rush give a thorough explanation of “Bane”, and his ratings are not inflated since only liberals take everything out of context.I guess every column commenter group needs a curmudgeon to keep things lively. Your house needs a good cleaning.

  • trashcup says:

Towncar07 – sounds like you are old enough to remember Rush’s TV shows, right? Remember how civil Rush was when Clinton was elected and Rush announced that Clinton was coming to the White House and bringing a new dog to the White House? Then he showed a picture of Chelsea. Of course he apologized after everyone said it was obnoxious, but damage done.

Rush makes his living with his mouth by saying obnoxious over the top things. He doesn’t care what he says as long as it keeps his listeners going. If you truly listen to Rush, all you really hear is constant complaining about everything that he doesn’t like.

In fact, he’s one big reason why there’s such a big divide in our country – a constant barage of filth spewing forth for 3 hours a day, week after week, year after year. He needs to go back to his Oxycontin to calm him down.
