SUPER BOWL XLVI: INDY HOTELS GOUGING GUESTS
With as few as 6,000 hotel rooms in greater Indianapolis available for Sunday’s Big Game bookings, the rates have soared to historic figures. A downtown pillow is $1,900 for a single room at a Comfort Inn; $4,250 a night at the Marriott – both with a 4-night minimum plus a hospitality tax. An RV space goes for $50 a night including water, electric and sewer. For the upcoming Summer Olympics in London, the rate for a room at the Park Lane Hilton, one of the priciest in the world, goes for one-third of the Marriott’s rate.

$17,000 for a long WEEKEND
$17,000 for a long weekend at the Marriott in Indianapolis?
Give me a break!!!!!
For that price, you could get a suite at the Drake in Chicago and fly over on SWA an hour before the game. I went when we played in Atlanta. Stayed in Buckhead $129.00. Took the train in about a half hour and walked right into the place. (Train was pretty slow on the way back).
Going to the Super Bowl, especially in style, costs so much money the average person could never afford to go. It’s a game reserved for rich fat-cats, washed up celebrities, and obnoxious has-been singers butchering The Star Spangled Banner.
Don’t worry – Romney and Trump can help out with their pocket change.
