Super fund-raiser Matt Lieberman has begun making phone calls to prospective donors to contribute to Mayor Francis Slay’s campaign for re-election to “get a leg up on Lewis Reed,” who might oppose Slay, according to a deep-pocket guy who fielded a call. . .Former Walpert Properties principal Bob Walpert has been sued by his ex-wife, Robin Walpert of Virginia Beach, VA., for defaulting on a $94,000 loan she made to him last November. Robert had made an initial payment of $10,000, but still owes the balance plus interest. The case is docketed for the court of Judge Carolyn Whittington. The couple was divorced in 2001. Robert now works at Principal Commercial Real Estate, following a merger between his company and Principal. Robin is repped by barrister Mark Goldenberg. . .That was KTRS’s Frank O. Pinion with car dealer John Londoff on Friday planning an upoming ad campaign. O. Pinion got kudos on his three successful heirs: Amanda, a star tennis player, who is now giving instructions; sons Adam and Austin, who operate three restaurants. Nearby were Jim Zouglas of Construction Services with John Kijowski of ESPN 101, who tipped that Chris Duncan will helm a show beginning Oct. 1 from 6-8 p.m., Monday-Friday from his current berth of “Baseball Tonight.
Cards slugger Jack Clark is launching his nightly baseball and sports show 10-11 nightly on KTRS 550 with co-host John Marecek. 101 ESPN has added baseball analysts Andy Van Slyke, Chris Duncan and Jason Simontacchi to its 6-7 p.m. slot, that begins Monday through the World Series. As part of KMOX Radio’s Sports Speakers Series, Clark, pitcher Danny Cox and left-hand receiver Ken Dayley will be on hand Tuesday night at Morton’s the Steak House at which guests can plunk down $100 each to meet the guys and have a steak dinner.
