THITHER & YAWN

Billed as The Art Fair at Queeny Park – A Juried National Exhibit of  Fine Art and Fine Craft, the columnist spent a few hours

roaming around the moribund Greensfelder Center to catch a few glimpses of the tchotckas.  Earings and more, Kay Foley‘s dazzling greeting cards, ashtrays, Crystal Jackson‘s paintings of dolphins, finger painting (yuk), Matt Klein‘s stunning wood-turned furniture, Bob Holloway‘s spectacular painting of the “Reunion of Presidents”  and architect Michael Frank‘s oil and acrylic works, that brought kudos. Frank, whose works are on view at a number of galleries. said, “These are too expensive for this crowd.”  What crowd?  A dismal few turned out, observed the columnist, who headed for the exit past the reception desk. where volunteer Beverly Price looked up at me and asked, “Are you the guy who’s supposed to bring the wine?” Only Time and the column will know.
