MICHAEL JORDAN RETURNS TO CBC

Oh, not that Michael Jordan, but the Michael Jordan who did serve as Christian Brothers College High School as president and principal in the 1980s.  He’s coming back to CBC to serve as director of institutional advancement for the 160 year-old high school. In the 1980s, Michael Jordan is credited with helping CBS on many successful fundraising campaigns. He officially begins his new job on June 1.  He’ll replace Tom Bowers as director.  Bowers is entering semi-retirement.  CBC prez Mike England made the announcement.

JOHN KING IN THE THROES OF JCC’S LAND FUTURE

On the subject of zoning, King said 50 acres of a tract at the JCC will be developed and sold via lots by Mike Staenberg to Pulte, the nation’s largest homebuilder. With King was his son, Paul, who owns the Gateway Golf Center. CBC’s prez, Mike England, said 368 golfers participated in the tourney, raising $175,000 “for a good Christian education in support of financial aid to students.” Tuition is now more than $11,000 a year, which includes laptop fees. “With the struggling economy, we have 830 students and 235 freshmen. Our vision is having 1,000 students with 250 in each class. Then, we can expand the campus.”
