Susan and Wayman Smith III

In Boca Raton, Fla. prominent lawyer Wayman Smith, III and Susan Arceneaux, AT&T programmer, were married by the Rev. Carl E. Officer and St. Louis county circuit judge Donald McCullin.  The ceremonial bliss took place at the Addison Hotel, where 170 guests from our town looked on.  The reception, with a New Orleans swing, featured the Dee Dee Wilde Band,under the baton of R&B recording artist Eugene Wilde.  The wedding party was later led to a yacht for a cruise.  Some well-heeled guests were on hand, including: Black Enterprise publisher Earl Graves, Sr.,; former Card Ray Langford; John and Barbara Jacob; Victor and Nancy Thompson; Mike and Jeanne Roberts; Arnold and Hazel Donald; Richard Banks and Larissa Steele; Chuck and Kymberly Smith-Jackson; Mike and Lynn Kennedy and Dr. Rosalyn Ball.

“I overheard Mike and Steve Roberts say they’re shutting down construction of their proposed tower at Eighth and Locust Streets,” wrote one informant.

This one from a curious observer, who asked, “Why are we paying $450,000 a-year to RCGA’s Dick Fleming, when St. Louis fell to 43rd place in the jobs market, according to U.S. stats – only just ahead of Detroit and Las Vegas?”  (Hello?)
