Cardinals Care

Cardinals’ opener: A chilly and rainy day. Fog shrouding the bridges, gray fingers creeping over the Illinois side, the city’s towers lost in the mist. Flags around Cardinal Nation waved and I waved back. American tourists partook in the traditional picnics filled with happy frolicking families. An old Saturday Evening Post cover had come to life, and I felt at peace with the world, even if the world, sadly, feels otherwise.
Former news anchor Larry Conners has returned to the tube pushing John Beal Roofing – just in time for the hail damage.  Endless television ads with Clairol’ed Whitey Herzog pushing hearing devices, Joe Emerson for Autohaus appearing like a solemn funeral director. Great pregame coverage by KMOX’s Mark Reardon and Frank Cusumano and accurate weather forecasters – the glammy Cindy Preszler and Chester Lampkin.
State rep Gina Mitten’s consumer newspaper was shot out to residents with “top consumer complaints” helpful consumer info including a list of the “top consumer complaints, according to the Missouri A.G.’s office. Among them: annoying telephone calls, harassment by collection agencies, mortgage foreclosure and loan modification, unwelcome solicitations, phone cramming and billing, debit and credit cards, home repair and remodeling scams, magazine sales, cable/satellite services and auto repair.
You gotta see it! A Q&A in The Ladue News features Fr. Ralph Siefert, head of Chaminade College Prep in which he’s asked: “What sets Chaminade apart?” “What would people be surprised to learn about Chaminade?” “What’s a rewarding experience you’ve had with a student here?”
In a letter to 70,000 families in the New York area, Cardinal Timothy Dolan vented his anger at Albany for not approving tax credits that would’ve boosted funds for parochial schools scholarships.
Dr. Maggie Reagan, heiress of Michelle and Muny topper Dennis Reagan, will marry Padraic “Paddy” Mullen on May 31 at Our Lady of Pillar followed by a pouring at the Palladium. Maggie will graduate from SLU School of Med; Paddy is with Cassidy Turley and a former defense tackle with Notre Dame.

Dolan is a jerk and I’m happy that the taxpayers didn’t give a penny to private Catholic schools! Who in their right mind would want their children exposed to their primitive rituals, dogmas and chance of their child being raped by a sick pedophile Catholic priest?! I have to laugh at him throwing an infantile tantrum! If his fictional “god” exists, why didn’t he/she/it find a way to provide scholarships to the dwindling in pupils Catholic schools?!
