Speaker of the House Tim Jones are tossing a “Scotch & Cigars” evening at 6 p.m., March 14 at the Ritz-Carlton.  Tix range from $150-$5,000 (major event sponsors).  Insiders believe the fundraiser is being held to position Jones to run for a statewide office in 2016. . .The vacant, massive Borders store on Olive Boulevard in Creve Coeur is prepping to accomodate an Aldi, say insiders. Aldi is a global discount supermarket based in Germany . . .Also, a few blocks away, the dormant Walgreens will become a Red Rack thrift shop operated by the DAV (Disabled American Veterans).
