Among the attendees was Sen. Roy Blunt, whose father, LeRoy Blunt, defeated Betty Anne McCaskill for state representative in 1978 in Springfield. Others attending included former Congressman Dick Gephardt, Gov. Jay Nixon, Lt. Gov. candidate Susan Montee, State Treasurer Clint Zweifel, Attorney General Chris Koster, Joyce Aboussie, Cong. Russ Carnahan and his wife, Debra, County Executive Charlie Dooley, Secretary of State Robin Carnahan and her husband Juan Carlos Antolinez and Congressman Jerry Costello. The sensational 50-member New Sunny Mount Missionary Baptist Church Chancel Choir filled the Sheldon with joyful music, and the New Mount Sunny pastor, Rev. Donald Hunter, and Rev.
