Something not kosher with that “Meet Me in St. Louis” date. The World Premiere took place at our Loew’s State on Nov. 22, 1944.

  • buttinsky says:

Who would want to attend a school where the teachers are members of the SEIU?

  • KITTY says:

It’s a sad day in hell and beyond outrageous that “lecturers” at Wash U are joining the most evil corrupt union in the entire world. For lecturers to form or join any union is disgusting. WTF do lecturers need a union for in the first place? And people who give lectures on college campuses are not employees of those colleges and universities in the first place. The Stage 4 cancer of the SEIU continues to spread itself into every element of our society. Yesterday, it was the grad students who demanded unionization. Today, it’s the lecturers. Tomorrow it will be Crossing Guards and then the Boy Scouts and then the Marching Band, the St. Louis Post Dispatch Forced Retirees, and on and on and on, ad nauseum. However since College campuses have become so liberal and radicalized in recent years, it appears those sniveling whining snow flake lecturers really do need union representation to insure their safe spaces have all the creature comforts they need: rattles, Jacks, dolls and coloring books and plenty of Depends!

  • Eagle says:

It’s the adjunct faculty that is struggle to unionize, not “lecturers.” Hard to believe people don’t know the difference.

  • Eagle says:

struggling…not struggle. Let down by spill chick.

  • TOWNCAR says:

As a transferee from SLU to WU, I missed my radio show on the campus, but did not miss the awful ambiance of the “Campus Club” at SLU, where the participants soaked in the air of stale smoke and coffee that would start a car….and when the rendering plant on Vandeventer was blowing right, the stench would immediately send the masses into the Pius XII Library where the air was filtered.

Wash U was a haven for at that time the worst thing happening on campus was a speaking engagement starring Angela Davis…I skipped her firebrand speech, and back then it was FREE speech, no one set the campus aflame or broke up the Quadrangle benches.

I got my Diploma and bid farewell, and I had never heard of SEIU, and now it’s a big deal. Sometimes age has it’s benefits, and looking back not much has changed as the only change are the players in this present/ tragic political mayhem.

Maybe the SEIU could try to organize SIUE. They already have all the same letters.
